Color Guard Equipment

Color Guard Equipment

Any kind of color guard wouldn't be caught dead without a flag. For it is the flag that completes the idea of being one. Color guards are known to be flag carriers. They hold these flags up high and carry them around, either to be part of their dance routines. Or as part of the procession as a sign of salute.

The flag is the most basic of their equipment. There are many different types of flags. The most popular are: regular flags, swing flags, half and half flags, chain flags, butterfly flags, and t flags.

Then apart from the flags, the color guards carry weapons. The most popular are rifles and sabers. Rifles are sometimes strapped, and spun. While others prefer spinning their rifles strapless. Sabers, on the other hand look like swords with handles. There are aluminum, plastic and steel sabers.

While the idea of weapons may seem a little violent, it is not necessarily the case for color guards. As the weapons being thrown around add grace and showcase the mastery of skill of these color guards.

Through extensive practice and discipline, color guards utilize these equipments and perform during half-time shows. Along with mastery of skill, color guard equipment make color guard shows more breathtaking.
